It took a long time to find this song. Originally, the idea started with Mrs. Smith roaming around a river in her bare feet and staring at the hydro wires…then someone told her to get out of the river because the water was unsafe. The story became a little overwhelming and Mrs. Smith seemed like she was going a bit senile. I’ve re-written it quite a few times until I realized that it needed to be simplified. I chose the name “Mrs. Smith” because I wanted it to be a common name. The song is not based on any specific woman…because there ware so many in this particular situation.
